Problem: 12 Clarifiers with concrete deterioration from water erosion and algae growth.
CMT Solution: We removed the surface contaminants by pressure washing, and sandblasted to remove the existing coating and prepare the concrete. Next we completed the concrete repair with mortar, and finally applied two coats of high solids catalyzed epoxy.
The system minimizes future algae growth by smoothing out the concrete surface and applying a top coat making the clarifiers much easier to clean. The life of the assets is extended and the clarifiers look brand new. We worked with the City to pull the clarifiers down for maintenance and to minimize disruption to plant operations. In addition to the clarifier project, we also painted the aeration piping and electrical panel boxes through out the plant, and the exterior of the digesters and day tanks.
Wendy and David, I have now been in this business for 15 years and I can safely say that it is rare to find a company who consistently exceeds the quality of work specified or even imagined. It has been my pleasure to work with CMT this past year and I look forward to continuing the relationship we have built. Thanks for your professionalism, your close attention to detail and your commitment to excellence.
